What's the difference between Original Coat Elixir and Comfort?
Both lift dust and grime, condition the hair and leave an incredible natural shine.
Comfort has been specifically formulated with calendula, avocado oil and bisabolol for horses with sensitive, dry or itch-prone skin.
Will Comfort stop my horse itching?
Comfort is a cosmetic grooming product rather than a veterinary treatment, so persistent or unexplained itching should always be investigated.
It has, however, been specifically formulated to care for sensitive and itch-prone skin, with ingredients chosen for their soothing and conditioning properties.
My horse doesn't have sensitive skin. Can I still use it?
Absolutely. Comfort is a brilliant everyday coat conditioner in its own right. If you love the formula or its gorgeous natural scent, there's no reason you can't choose it over Original.
Should I patch test it?
Yes. We recommend patch testing before first use, particularly on horses known to have sensitive skin.
How often can I use it?
As often as you like. For maintaining coat and skin condition, we recommend around 2–3 times a week.
Will it make the coat greasy?
No. Comfort is made predominantly from lightweight plant oils and, when used as directed, leaves the coat soft and glossy rather than heavy or greasy.
Can I use it before and after clipping?
Absolutely. It's particularly lovely for maintaining freshly clipped coats. If using before clipping, always make sure your horse is completely dry before clipping.
Is it vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. Coat Elixir Comfort contains no animal-derived ingredients and is cruelty-free.
