Make sure you pay particular attention to the areas that get really scurfy, like the croup area.
We'd recommend these deep cleaning shampoo's to cut through the grime (all are eco-friendly too!)...
Applying a good quality, natural coat conditioner will not only help protect their skin, it will help the clippers glide through their coat without resistance.
Honestly, this is a game-changer!
We'd recommend these eco-friendly coat conditioners...
We know, we know, legs, heads and lines are the hardest bits to clip so most people put them off til last.
It makes sense to do these first as your horse will be more patient - leave their body til last when you can tackle it even when they're fidgeting.
A quick hot cloth after you've finished clipping makes ALL the difference. It will lift out any remaining grime, remove pesky little loose hairs and make them super shiny!
Having removed all that hair, be aware that any product you use is even more likely to have direct contact with the sensitive skin underneath, so pick something that doesn't contain harsh ingredients (put the bottle of Dettol away!).
We think our Coat Elixir is the best hot oil on the market. You could also use our Rinse Bombs which will also lift those pesky little hairs...
And finally, don't forget about your own skin!
By using the products we've suggested above, you'll avoid harsh ingredients on your own skin.
Wearing gloves isn't practical when clipping so we'd also highly recommend applying some Handshield Barrier before you start, to protect your hands from drying and cracking. Honestly, this product is incredible!
