Imagine being able to help your horse protect themselves against the flies WITHOUT the pungent, toxic, synthetic-ingredient-ridden stench.
That's why our Ultimate Bug Barrier products combine a powerful mix of natural ingredients and absolutely no DEET.
Do you find yourself struggling to find a fly repellent that actually keeps the bugs away, whilst not spending an absolute fortune? Trust us, we've been there. What if we told you, during the 18 months of developing our Bug Barrier, we found a whole host of other issues with products currently on the market:
🤯 The vast majority of biocidal ingredients (Deet, Icaridin, Picaridin, Saltidin) have been tested on animals.
🤯 The products with a particularly potent combination of synthetic ingredients can rot a plastic sponge. Have you ever noticed this? I mean... can you imagine what its also doing to our horses skin?
🤯 Striking a balance between a water based product that will evaporate off the skin and something so oil-based it has the potential to burn is a hard balance to strike
We think we've come up with something special that counters ALL of the issues above.
PLUS, with this balm formula, you can also apply fly protection to their sensitive areas with a cloth.
The balm formula tends to be longer lasting than a spray as the lack of water content reduces the chance of evaporation.
If you prefer a spray, or want to combine the use of both, check out our Ultimate Bug Barrier refillable spray.
CAUTION: Do not use directly onto exposed skin on sunny days.

CAUTION: Do not use directly onto exposed skin on sunny days.
Is it vegan?
No, this product contains sustainably sourced beeswax, from a local Wiltshire Bee Keeper.
Is it cruelty-free?
Yes. We will not sell anything that has been tested on anything other than our own animals!
Beware of ingredients like Icaridin, Picaridin and Saltidin commonly found in fly sprays as these have all been (and continue to be) tested on mammals in labs.
Can I use the Balm and the Spray together?
Yes! We like to use the spray on our horses body and the balm is for their face and belly, as it is easier to apply with a cloth.

Yes, it is suitable for horses with sensitive skin, although please always patch test before use.

Our core ingredients have a lengthy shelf life, but we do recommend using your Bug Barrier within 12 months.
Can I use the Bug Barrier on myself?
We wouldn't recommend it, as the ingredient %'s have been designed for protection of horses not humans.

On the average horse, using the product twice a day we’d estimate the product will last around 3-4 weeks.
How do I dispose of the packaging once it’s finished?
The aluminium tin is endlessly recyclable. so can go into your recycling bin.
