1. Wipe on with a damp cloth or dip the tip of your brush into the balm.
2. Work the balm into the coat, paying particular attention to fly-prone areas.
3. Safe to use around eyes, nose and sheath (but patch test first).

How often should I use the Bug Barrier Stick?

Apply once or twice a day to clean, dry skin, or whenever your horse needs a quick top-up. A little goes a long way, so there's no need to apply thick layers or allow the product to build up over time.

Caution: Avoid applying directly to exposed pink skin in strong sunshine.

Where should I use the Bug Barrier Stick?

The Stick has been designed specifically for targeted application to sensitive areas, including around the eyes, muzzle, ears, dock and sheath. For larger areas of the body, we recommend our Bug Barrier Balm (applied with a sponge or cloth) or our Bug Barrier Spray.

Is it vegan?

No. The Bug Barrier Stick contains sustainably sourced beeswax from a local Wiltshire beekeeper.

Is it cruelty-free?

Absolutely. We never test our products on animals other than our own horses.

Many conventional fly-repellent ingredients, including DEET, Icaridin, Picaridin and Saltidin, have historically been tested on animals. That's one of the reasons we chose a different path when developing our Bug Barrier range.

Can I use the Stick with the Spray or Balm?

Yes! In fact, that's exactly how we use it.

• Stick: Face, muzzle, ears, sheath and other sensitive areas.
  
• Spray: Quick coverage over the body.
  
• Balm: Ideal for applying over larger areas with a sponge or brush.

Can I use the Bug Barrier Stick on horses with sensitive skin?

Yes. It has been designed with sensitive areas in mind and is suitable for most horses. However, as with any new grooming product, we always recommend carrying out a small patch test before first use.

How should I store it?

Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

As it's made with natural waxes and oils, the Stick may soften slightly in very hot weather. If this happens, simply stand it upright in a cooler place and it will firm up again.

What is the shelf life?

We recommend using your Bug Barrier Stick within 12 months of purchase for optimum performance.

Can I use it on myself?

We've formulated the Stick specifically for horses, so we don't recommend using it on people.

How long will one Stick last?

This will vary depending on how often you use it and how many areas you're treating. On an average horse, with once or twice daily application to the face and other sensitive areas, we'd expect one Stick to last around 3-4 weeks.

How do I dispose of the packaging?

The aluminium tube is endlessly recyclable, so simply place it in your household recycling once it's empty.

Will it melt in hot weather?

Like any product made with natural waxes and oils, the Stick can soften in very warm temperatures. This doesn't affect its performance. Simply store it somewhere cool and upright until it firms up again.
